Introduction. Article 44 says, “The State shall endeavor to secure for the citizens a uniform civil code throughout the territory of India.” India is a Democratic Republic and it is imperative that state treats its citizens alike without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion, belief, region, sex and gender. State must adopt policies which provide equal opportunities/conditions to citizens for birth, natal care, education, employment, marriage, adoption, inheritance, divorce etc.  In order to maintain peace, harmony and avoid any cultural conflict it is an absolute necessity to formulate Uniform Civil Code and implement it for people at large. Creation of a data bank for birth and to link this with Pre & post natal care program will help Govt to plan support system for expectant mothers and new born babies. Birth registration forms an important aspect of planning support system for children and mother also. It is imperative that registration of pregnancy and birth is made a simple and digitized procedure to ensure that every pregnancy and child birth is registered.
